Would you believe - #7

Would you believe I haven’t done one of these posts in two months?

Well today, I’m back on track! So, without further ado…

Would you believe, I quit my first real job in 17 years in 4 days? Okay, if you know me, you’d probably have been in the pool my husband had going at work as to how long I’d last. In my defense…I only quit because I got another job in one of my local schools. Which means lower pay, less hours and off when the kids are off (that’s the real reason I took the job!)

Would you believe, I spent a hour this weekend digging these strange fungus things out of the garden by my front door? They smell absolutely putrid, look like phalic symbols covered with green slime and when you dig them up, you’d be convinced the pod people were thriving in my garden under the muck and mulch. After scouring the internet, I’ve discovered they’re called “stinkhorns” and are pretty hard to get rid of, but harmless nonetheless (except for the smell!) I guess I should count myself lucky, there is another variety of this stinkhorn fungus that smells like dog feces…well, I’m counting my blessings I don’t have that one!

Would you believe, yesterday I treated myself to some pampering? I know it’s pretty darn amazing to think that I would actually do something nice for myself (let’s forget about the weekly trips to starbucks, the hours in the bookstores and the days I lay around my house without even getting dressed, or the many nights we get take-out because writing took up all my time and I didn’t feel like cooking, shall we?) I got my haircut and a full set of beautiful acrylic nails! And the places I went, added in massages too! I was treated to a wonderfully relaxing scalp massage when getting my hair cut. And at the nail salon, not only were both my hands massaged, but as my nails dried - my shoulders, back and neck were worked over! I felt great!

Would you believe, I’ve been tagged again? And not in just one place. I was tagged by Gina and by Nadia and probably a few others I missed along the way, since I’ve been a bad blogger lately. So tomorrow, I’ll be catching up on all my tags.

Your turn - got anything I wouldn’t believe?

I love the new look! And stinkhorns should definitely be written into a book somewhere down the line - that is just too too funny!
